Don’t let your money go down the drain! Report water leaks
Recently one of our tenants was shocked to receive a much higher water bill than normal and had to negotiate a repayment plan with Water Corp. The cause of the extra water usage was a faulty valve in the toilet cistern, which meant water was slowly, but constantly, being refilled 24 hours a day. Over a few months, this added up to hundreds of litres of extra water.
Sadly this problem could have been avoided if the tenant had reported the problem through our maintenance line as soon as they noticed the leak, so we could arrange for a plumber to fix it.
While Foundation Housing pays for the cost of having water connected to your property, tenants pay for the water they actually use, even if it’s because of leak.
If you notice a water leak at your property, please call 1300 895 205 to report the issue so we can get it fixed for you. Our friendly staff are here from 8.30am until 4.30pm weekdays to take your call. You can also report it through our website.
Water bills are a tenant responsibility and unpaid water bills can result in a breach of your tenancy. Please let us know if you have a leak so we can help you keep your water bills to a minimum.
