Foundation Housing grows in Hedland

March 8, 2018

The Town of Port Hedland have appointed Foundation Housing as the new facility manager of the 25 unit retirement village owned and operated by the local government body.

Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said “Tapping into the expertise of Foundation Housing will allow the Town to develop a long-term plan for the future of the facility without disrupting the current tenants,” Mayor Blanco said.

“Our aged community is important to us, and ensuring that they have quality facilities is a top priority moving forward,” he added.

Foundation Housing will work with the Town to assess future options for the site while providing a comprehensive range of property management services such as rent collection, attending to resident queries and work requests, and managing vacancies: all services it currently provides to a range of other clients in the Pilbara.

Foundation Housing’s General Manager of Business Development Chris Smith said, “We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract.  As a community housing provider we are very committed to maintaining our presence in the region where we manage around 140 properties which house people who may struggle to find appropriate accommodation elsewhere.

“Our Pilbara team look forward to getting to know the tenants of the retirement village and working with them to ensure a smooth transition and an ongoing high level of service.”
