Statement regarding Foyer Oxford

June 27, 2017

The Minister for Housing, Hon Peter Tinley, MLA, made a statement on the 27 June regarding the cladding at Foyer Oxford.

Foundation Housing leases Foyer Oxford in Leederville from the Housing Authority and is responsible for the property management of the four storey, 98 room facility.

Foundation Housing takes very seriously the safety of its residents, commercial tenants and staff – it is a primary focus for the organisation.

Foundation Housing recently received information that the cladding system at Foyer Oxford is non-compliant with the deemed to satisfy provisions of the Building Code of Australia.

Foundation Housing is focused on urgently implementing recommendations made by independent experts regarding fire safety measures to further improve existing standards at the building.

Foundation Housing is working with the Housing Authority and other stakeholders to do everything we can within our control to ensure the safety of those at Foyer Oxford.  This matter will continue to be our priority as we work through implementing these measures.
