Twelve months ago, Cindy was not sure if she would ever find a suitable enough home to raise her kids. Today, she is a proud homeowner, now paying less in mortgage repayments than she was paying in rent, and making arrangements for home improvements.

Cindy was introduced to Foundation Housing over a year ago through Anglicare’s Family Housing Program and was placed in a home in Carlisle. Prior to living in a Foundation Housing home, she was staying in a small one-bedroom home and wasn’t able to look after her children. Her motivation to have all her children under the one roof was to save for a larger place and one she could call her own.
With the resources available to her and the assistance from her support worker, it wasn’t long before Cindy received news that her finances and loan through the Family Housing Program was approved and that she was on her way to owning a home. But without reaching out for help, Cindy said that she wouldn’t have been able to get her life back on track. “I recommend anyone to not be afraid to reach out. The resources in the community are there to help you. Even if the road is hard ahead, you will get through it. I am proof of that,” she says.
“Foundation Housing has been an incredible steppingstone for me. It has been through the great support and access to resources from Anglicare and Foundation Housing that I have been able to take the right steps to be where I am today,” she says.
Congratulations on this huge milestone in your life, Cindy!
