The Kaartdijin Scholarship, meaning “knowledge” in Noongar language, reflects Foundation Housing’s ongoing commitment to supporting cultural learning, self-determination and opportunity for First Nations tenants.
Chief Executive Officer Chris Smith said the decision to expand the program was driven by the clear impact scholarships were having on tenants’ lives.
“This year, we awarded four scholarships instead of two because we could see how strongly this financial support helps tenants overcome barriers and move closer to achieving their education and life goals. These scholarships create real opportunity and real change.”
Recipients will use their scholarships across a range of pursuits including education, training, cultural learning and personal development. Over the coming year, Foundation Housing will share updates on their journeys, highlighting the real-life impact of opportunity and support.
