A New Chapter for Hampton Road

October 28, 2021

Foundation Housing has managed the lodging house complex at 100 Hampton Road in Fremantle for the last 14 years. On Wednesday 26 October, CEO Chris Smith joined the Minister for Housing Hon. John Carey MLA, the Minister for Community Services Hon. Simone McGurk and St Pat’s CEO Michael Piu to announce that the State Government has signed a new five-year lease agreement with St Pat’s to run the complex.

100 Hampton Road has been a critical facility in addressing housing needs and providing accommodation to people on low incomes in the Fremantle region.

“Foundation Housing staff have enjoyed working alongside Hampton Road residents for the last 14 years. I thank them and all of our partners who have contributed to providing safe and secure accommodation, as well as doing so much more like offering opportunities for engagement and community involvement. This includes Oz Harvest, the Omalas Project, Homeless Healthcare, our chaplain, and the many referring and support agencies who’ve assisted our residents. We are working to ensure that the handover to the new managers is seamless for those who call Hampton Road home. We wish St Pat’s the very best in assuming this management responsibility.” says Chris Smith.

Foundation Housing’s Street to Home services will continue to be provided to clients at Hampton Road that seek ongoing case management and support.

“I would like to thank Foundation Housing for the fantastic job they’ve done of managing the facility on the Government’s behalf for the last 14 years,” said Minister Carey.
