Foundation Housing named preferred proponent for Queens Riverside project

March 6, 2026

Foundation Housing is pleased to be named the preferred proponent for the Queens Riverside project, which will see the former hotel transformed into high-quality social and affordable housing apartments.

This project represents an important step in delivering safe, secure and welcoming homes for Western Australians, aligned with Foundation Housing’s mission to create housing solutions that strengthen communities and support people to thrive.

Foundation Housing is working closely with the Department project team to ensure the redevelopment works are fit for purpose and support operational excellence, creating homes that meet the needs of future residents while supporting sustainable, long-term community outcomes.

As part of the early engagement process, Foundation Housing staff were pleased to meet with the Queens Reference Group and resident representatives from the precinct. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the organisation and hear directly from residents about their vision for the project and the future of the area.

Foundation Housing looks forward to continuing to work closely with residents, stakeholders and government partners to ensure a smooth transition and to support the development of a connected, welcoming and sustainable community at Queens Riverside.

The project also contributes to Foundation Housing’s Building for the Future vision, which aims to deliver 2,000 homes by 2030 to meet the growing demand for social and affordable housing across Western Australia.

Through strong partnerships with government and the community, Foundation Housing remains committed to delivering quality housing outcomes that create stability, opportunity and stronger communities.
